OuR Mission

To facilitate winter sports opportunities for  individuals with disabilities through professional ski and snowboard education in a safe environment, which increases physical, social, and functional skills.

Who We Are

BASE is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides skiing and snowboarding lessons to individuals with physical or cognitive challenges. We operate out of Boise, Idaho, and we teach our ski and snowboard lessons at Bogus Basin, a ski mountain just 16 miles up the road from Boise.

We are a 100% all volunteer run organization and are committed to providing top quality snow sport instruction. We are inspired each day by the commitment of our volunteers and the joy that snow sport recreation brings our students.

What we do

BASE teaches several ski and snowboard adaptive modalities, including stand-up lessons, sit-ski lessons, 3-track stand up lessons, 4-track stand up lessons, and more. We teach these lessons to individuals with physical or cognitive challenges and tailor our teaching approach to the unique needs of each individual student.

We use adaptive equipment, like sit-skis, bamboo poles, tip tethers, radio communication systems, and tetra-skis to teach individuals how to stay active and enjoy snow sports in a personalized way that complements their unique challenges and abilities.
